A really beautiful and rare pair of high end Mid-Century Modern lamps made in Italy in the 1950s. Matte bisque natural white color with black bases. Newly rewired with new cords and high end bronze color double sockets. Each lamp has four sides with hand-carved fruits and leaves. apple, lemons, grapes and pears. These lamps are a great example of Italian Mid-Century design. These lamps were probably made in the factory of Fantoni and designed by Marcelo Fantoni, but we can not verify attribution. They are auction worthy lamps, and a wonderful example of the amazing arisans that made lamps that were more works of art sculptures than a plug in lamp...

A Italian Lamp that is both classic and modern. A chic bronze statue on a burl wood cube base. Beautifully made as only the Italians can do. We custom ordered a black fabric shade that looks like the original version which was too torn to save. The inside king of the shade is a light color gold fabric which drowns the sculpture at night in a beautiful gold glow. This classic Italian style lamp looks amazing mixed with a modern decor. This Sasha Brastoff lamp is one of a kind and was made for a personal friend of Mr. Brastoff. It is highly collectible and desirable because it is a hand made sculpture of a rooster. A rooster was Mr. Brastoff’s logo. It has a history and great stories about his reasons for choosing a rooster as his favorite animal and made many variations of a rooster. This beauty is stunning as it is gold plated with black as he did before mixing those 2 colors combo in vases and even an iconic set of China that is in very high demand still today. Sculpture/base rooster height is 18.5”. Mr. Brastoff’s work is collected by many of the rich and famous around the world. The rooster is glued to the base. We were going to refinish the black base but did not want to damage the rooster trying to remove it. It looks fine as it. Most Sascha designed lamps and especially the ones made by him had WANUT real wood bases. Not sure as this was made for a friend if it was black originally. Orig wiring in working condition. It has a nice on/off switch on the cord. The black fabric shade is as we found the lamp. Lined in light gold fabric. Probably not the 1950s original. Looks good on the outside, it has some marks at the top of the inside of shade. Not visible outside. Exact replacements are still available. Sascha Brastoff...
