2-347 Handmade garden copper vase with cast brass handles. Can be used as umbrella/stick stand

Graceful bud vase in shape of an ewer is hand thrown and hand decorated with traditional abstract design in black on mottled coral pink glaze background. The placement of the design is sensitively proportioned to the shape of the vase, creating an optical effect that guides the eye. The vase is signed on the bottom by the artist, Dorothy Stewart.

Modern Italian opalescent colored Murano glass vase signed by Pino Signoretto. A transparent glass object made out of thick glass layers (total 2.5cm) shaped like eggs made in Sommerso Technique with two white circular color stripes. Hot glass technique in which differently colored layers of glass are applied, one on top of the other, in such a way that each color remains distinctly visible. Size and weight: Length 25cm x width 11.0cm x height 30cm / 11.5kg Biography Pino Signoretto Born September 28, 1944 in Favaro Veneto. 1954 He worked for a muranese glass chandelier souvenir manufacturer. 1959 Apprenticeship with master glassblower Alfredo Barbini and works with the master Livio Seguso, Ermanno Nason, and Angelo Seguso. 1960 He got the title of master glassblower. 1961-77 he worked in different factories, to get full technical knowledge of glass. 1978 Signoretto opens his own furnace showroom in Murano. 1978 – 84 He collaborates with artists and architects, Dalì, Licata, Dal Pezzo, Vitali, Pomodoro, Willson. 1985 Signoretto undertakes the first of a long series of trips to Japan. 1989 He participates in a demostration for the japanese imperial family. S.C.I. Laveno vase /umbrella stand ceramic, 1940, Italy.

A very fine and stylish antique oriental, Chinese attributed, cloisonne double gourd vase dating from the latter 19th century. The vase stands on a flat brass base with a wide round base, pinched waist and narrow round upper section with a funnel style top with a flat metal rim. The body of the vase is decorated with a mixture of flowering shrubs dominated with flowering hawthorn incorporating a butterfly to one side. The continuous scenes are decorated in colored enamels against a bright turquoise ground and set between formal borders around the foot, the pinched centre and top of the vase. A beautiful circa 1960s vintage Italian umbrella stand by Bucciarelli, signed underneath with 'Bucciarelli Milano Made in Italy' label. Similar to umbrella stands made by Piero Fornasetti, it has been rumored he licensed some of his work to the retailer Bucciarelli however we have not found any confirmation on this so this is listed as 'In the style of' Fornasetti. This hefty cylindrical umbrella bin is made with lithographic transfer and lacquered metal that has a black background with gold decoupage cameos motif, elegant brass trim and brass feet to this gorgeous collectors piece.
