An Italian pair of acanthus carved single-candle wall sconces from the early 20th century. This antique pair of wall decorations from Italy each feature elegantly hand-carved scrolling acanthus leaf plaques, full of beautiful ribbing and texture. Lightly carved floral outlines further embellish the voided spots within the front of the wooden backplates. A single carved-wood arm, maintaining the scrolled acanthus leaf theme, gently protrudes out from the center bottom, each terminating into a ruffled metal leaf bobe`che, ready to receive a single candlestick within it's center. The coloring of these pieces is primarily a silver/bronze with some areas of cream and black. Please note that these are candle light fixtures...

A lovely pair of 18th century appliques - Sconces - beautifully crafted in hand forged iron.

From Northern Italy a rare set of six 18th century gilt wrought iron arms, candle holders, hanging lantern brackets suitable as sconces, if you wire them. These iron arms are fully handmade with curved scrolling iron structure, decorated with  elegant gilt wrought iron acanthus leaves and gildwood balls and bobeches.. Good age related condition, the six arms have the same shape and structure but slightly different sizes, with minor losses, missing giltwood balls in four of item. The gilding of the arms is in good condition, excellent feature in case of their use as sconces, overturning the irons compared to their original use. Some small lacks in the leaves of the crowns of the bobeches, as visible in the picture details. Northern Italy, 1700.
