A rare collection of original black and white photographs purchased in 1996 that were printed in 1996. They were custom ordered and only maximum of 3 were made. The photographs are beautifully printed. Pat Milo was a “artistic” male nude/physique photographer. He was more about making a beautiful photograph, been shooting men mood for the sake of being nude. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Dave Martin at his San Francisco apartment in the early 2000s. We had been collecting original male physique photography for decades, and found out about Mr. Martin’s amazing work after a coffee table book came out with his personal photography collection that finally allowed him the fame and accolades of his amazing body of work. Mr. Martin was a charming man with the most amazing and interesting stories, and we spent an entire afternoon with him. We got along so well, we ended up taking him to lunch, not knowing if we were going to be able to buy any of his work, surprisingly, after we went back to his apartment, and he offered many of his personal favorites to us all printed by Mr. Martin himself. The photographs had handwritten notes of photographs with details about their sports and interest. Mr. Martin was not only amazingly talented, he was a pioneer, that enabled future photographers decades after to continue this genre of photography which will always have it’s place in American History. He and others went through harassment, arrests, and even physical harm to produce and sell their photos. We hope you like these rare, original handprinted collectible photographs that are a part of the history of male physique photography by one of the pioneers that inspired, so many to this day. Signed and dated by the author at the base Franco Fontana: (Modena, Italy - December 9, 1933) is an Italian photographer, photojournalist and writer. He began photographing in 1961. A frequent photographer at the "Fotoclub", his activity is mainly amateur, even though he carries out aesthetic research on various themes. Very important will be those dedicated to the abstract expression of color, carried out in a period in which abstract art in photography was to be found exclusively in black and white. In 1963 he exhibited at the Third International Biennial of Color in Vienna; the year after Popular Photography publishes, for the first time, a portfolio with text by Piero Racanicchi. He held his first solo exhibitions in 1965 in Turin (Subalpina photographic society) and in 1968 in Modena (Galleria della Sala di Cultura). The exhibition in his hometown marks a turning point in his research. Its complex activity and the international importance of its production can be summarized in some figures.
