About the Item

As delicate as a spider web (and almost as sheer), this blouse is an alluring exercise in concealing and revealing: though every inch of skin is covered, its gossamer lightness allows you to see right through it. Victorian-era details like pintucks, filet lace and embroidery create a dainty, dressy top that pairs as beautifully with broken-in jeans as a silk skirt. Sheer long sleeve blouse with Peter Pan collar; two-button turnback cuffs, collar and placket trimmed in lace. Quadruple tucks at each shoulder, plus five micro-pintucks down full length of blouse on each panel at bust; filet lace and embroidery detail on either side of placket and on collar. 6-button front closure with cotton tape waist ties fixed at center back; unlined. fabric: sheer cotton batiste noteworthy: dry clean only alterations: none condition: very good with one small mark on front left panel beside placket (see photo) measurements: collar: 3” at widest (including ¼” lace trim) neckline circumference: 17” shoulders: 13 ¾” sleeve: 22” from shoulder, 17” from underarm sleeve circumference: 12” at upper arm, 7 ½” at wrist bust: 38” waist: 38” sweep: 41” length: 21” from shoulder to longest point in front, 18 ½” from shoulder to longest point in back rear ties: 25 ½”long x 7/16” wide (each) label: Fleur de Lys (hand made) size: vintage size 36; comparable to modern size extra small – small depending on shoulders
