1950s Lou-Ette Red and Black Cotton Shirt Waister Dress

About the Item

This is a superb and incredibly classic late 1950s shirtwaister dress by Lou-Ette of California. It is made from a beautiful deep burgundy red cotton with a delicate black woven geometric design. The collar and sleeves have a white waffle cotton contrast fabric detail, and both sleeves have two black buttons at each cuff. The front fastens with a long zip, concealed by a placket and with a singular black button to the collar. The interior of the dress is lined with a vibrant red cotton and the skirt, which is gathered at the waist, has a great structure to it. In superb vintage condition; it looks as good as the day it was made and is possibly unworn! Will fit a range of sizes up to a UK 10-12 or US 6. MEASUREMENTS: BUST: 36 in. ( 91.44 cm ) WAIST: 28 in. ( 71.12 cm ) HIP: 42 in. ( 106.68 cm ) LENGTH: 44 in. ( 111.76 cm )
