1970s French Haute Couture Green and White Floral Dress

About the Item

This 1970s French couture green and white dress in silk crepe features a striking floral fabric design. It has a softly rounded neckline and fastens down the back with an original white couture zip, complete with hook and eye fastening. The print consists of a pattern of abstract, wave like lines, interspersed with green and white flowers. The sleeves are long and loose to the elbow, and then narrow along the forearm, fastening with a row of green fabric buttons on each cuff. From the waist the skirt flows beautifully down to around knee length, and is finished with a contrasting green silk trim all the way around the hem. The skirt itself is pleated on the left and right sides of both front and back, which excites movement and gives the dress a floaty appearance. The skirt portion of the dress is lined in a quality white acetate. In fabulous vintage condition with no issues of any note. Although unlabelled it has clearly been constructed by a talented seamstress, trained in haute couture and likely for a high end atelier or design house. Would fit up to a size 12 UK, or 8 US.
