A French Callot Soeurs Couture Summer dress - Art Deco Period Circa 1925

About the Item

Circa 1925/1929 Paris Beach dress labelled Callot Soeur, Paris, nouvelle marque déposée. Printed silk crepe (Bianchini Ferrier ?) with stylized floral motifs Art Deco in shades of blue, orange, pink, beige, yellow and blue. Pleated shawl collar knotting on one shoulder and ruffled skirt. Dress without waitsize corresponding to the women's liberation of this period. La Maison Callot Soeur had branches in Nice, Biarritz, Le Touquet, London, St. Moritz and Buenos Aires. Golden graphic label. A few patina of the time, but no stain or holes. Very Good condition and color. Equivalent of a French 38 size. Madame Gerber is a great all busy lady of a profession that is to adorn the woman to dress a body, not to build a costume... Wrote Madeleine Vionnet who worked as Première d’atelier in the House of Callot Soeurs from 1901-1906.
