Vintage 1950's Silk Rose Bud Print Dress and Jacket 1950's Silk Dress Suit

About the Item

Rendered in the most sumptuous raw silk with a pattern of rose buds in shades of pink with bold green stems, accented by delicate pleated details and velvet finishings, this original 1950's dress and jacket set is just the piece to add to your seasonal wardrobe. The rounded notched neckline of the dress is accented by a pleated border along the front of the décolletage. The elegant shoulder line, sets off the short length sleeves. The fitted bodice, boasts tailored darts beneath the bust-line from which gathered pleats radiate upwards along the bust. The cinched in waistline, draws the eye to the simple skirt-line which is accented by single box pleats that radiate from either side of the front of the waist-seam. The dress is finished with a kick pleat along the centre back of the skirt. The matching jacket, is accented by an elegant V shaped neckline, which is sett off by by gathered pleats that contour the nape and décolletage. The simple shoulder line, sets off the short length sleeves, which boast turned up cuffs, with detailed external splits along each side. The fitted cut of the jacket, is accented by tailored seams, which draw the eye to the central pink pearlescent button fastenings. The cinched in waistline is accented by mock front pockets, which boast pleated edges and are finished with pink velvet bows. This dress and jacket set are not lined. The jacket fastens with 4 buttons Condition: The dress is in near perfect vintage condition, a very light blue mark along the back of the right hand side sleeve. Very light and gentle yellowing below the armpits. The jacket is in near perfect vintage condition, very gentle colour bleed to the rose bud pattern along the sleeve sea. Very gentle and small scattered age marks along the left hand side cuff of the jacket. These minor details are in no way apparent the set is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection.
