About the Item

This incredible antique Edwardian dress was made in the early 19th century, and it is a stunning, museum-worthy (and museum quality) work of art. These Victorian/Edwardian era dresses are commonly mis-referred to as tea dresses or tea gowns, but they were actually known as "lingerie dresses." The details on this dress are breathtaking, and to think most of them were done by hand is really astounding. The sleeves and upper bodice are comprised of Val lace embroidered panels— the embroidery throughout this dress is so substantial, and has a lot of volume and dimension to it, making it unique among most Edwardian lawn dresses and the like. The yoke at the upper bodice makes the gathered bust area feel fuller, which was a very typical Edwardian silhouette. Defining the waistband is an open Irish crochet lace panel, which is echoed at the neckline, sleeve cuffs and in one panel on the skirt. The main material is a lightweight cotton, which is pintucked through the skirt to create a straight, column shape. It is shown with a nude bodysuit underneath (no slip) so you can see it's very possible to wear this out as a dress. This dress is in remarkably beautiful condition considering its age; it's only becoming harder to find these rare antique dresses in wearable condition. This would be such a beautiful "Something Old" for a bride! Measurements: This will best fit a modern size X-Small and Small but please refer to below measurements to be sure. Shoulders: about 15" Chest: 35" laid flat , there is some extra room w front chest gathering Waist: 27" Hips are open Sleeves: about 12" Length: 57" from shoulder to hem Great antique condition. Vintage 1960s White Crochet Lace Empire Waist Dress
Located in New York, NY
This beautiful vintage 1960s white lace dress features a unique empire waist and bell sleeves with scalloped edges. This dress was custom made and is one-of-a-kind— it makes a fantastic vintage bridal option for a wedding event, but it can be worn for so many occasions. I adore the shape of the empire waistband, which gives way to pleated details, and an A-line skirt. The bow details in the back so sweet, and I love that the sleeves are unlined, which really shows off the beauty of the lace. The Vintage Bamboo Box...
