About the Item
Circa 1915/1920

Interesting historical testimony with this evening dress signed by Rosa C. Korn New York, Circa 1915. Pale yellow and gold damask satin from China, pale sleeves in yellow silk crepe adorned with lace. Elaborate cut with high waist and superimposition of pleated panels with lead buttons for the skirt. Dress fitted at the waist with a draped and stapled belt. Model probably corresponding to the support of American Couture during the First World War in Europe. Cords in golden appliqué chenillettes on the neckline and shoulders. Lining in yellow silk crepe and cream taffeta for the bustier. A few pin-sized spots on the bustier in front. Collector piece not for wearing because a bit fragile. Otherwise good general condition of color and conservation. A Collectible dress.
