About the Item

Gene Shelly 1960s evening dress in mocha bouclé accented with metallic wine-colored seed beads and faux pearls! The seed beads form a jeweled collar and graduate out to dots of beads throughout the dress. In addition, the beads and pearls come together in an abstract floral or fireworks design patterned throughout the dress. A 19 inch side slit adds to the allure. For those new to Gene Shelly, her dresses were hand-beaded in the previously British colony of Hong Kong, which was known for the high quality beading during this time period. The base of her dresses are a wool knit, easy to wear and with lots of flexibility of movement. Her dresses are incredibly sexy as they cling to the body's curves. Features of the dress include: * Mocha wool bouclé knit, partially lined at the bodice * Metallic wine-colored seed beads and faux pearl abstract floral design * 3/4 length sleeves * Talon metal zipper at the back * Sexy wiggle dress silhouette * 19" side slit * Floor length * Tag reads Gene Shelly's Boutique Internationale California, Made in Hong Kong, 100% Wool, RN 27049 No size tag. I estimate best fit to be a modern sizes XS-Small. There's a lot of stretch to the garment so it's very forgiving, up to an additional 4 inches at each measurement. Please check your measurements to ensure a good fit. When laid flat, closed and un-stretched, outside garment measurements are: Bust: 34" Waist: 24" Hip: 33" Length from shoulder to hem: 53". Please remember these are outside measurements; leave room for comfort and movement.
