About the Item

LOVE LALI VINTAGE An exquisite and very rare vintage couture dress by Maggie Norris that would have been specially made to order. Oriental style, the dress is composed of a very pale champagne coloured silk, cut on the bias to streamline the body, sleeveless and with a mock neck. The entirety of the dress is beaded to about 3/4 length which would have been done entirely by hand, so it is quite a work of art. Areas that have been left without beads form the shape of flowers, with silver crystals acting as mock stamens. The dress is lined till about the knee. It has a slight train and a there is a button on the back of the dress so you can attach the train and have the option not to have it. I forgot to picture this on the mannequin, but have taken a picture of the train buttoned up on the dress laying flat. Please take note of the length, as I believe this was designed for someone shorter in height. The train will fall from a height to the floor if you are taller - I have taken a picture with the mannequin positioned in two heights - so you can see how the train falls on someone taller and shorter. The lower part of the dress is not beaded, so one could also entirely remove the small train if you wished. It has a concealed back zip and four buttons that do up at the back of the neck. As this is a couture dress there is no size or composition. But the dress would be 100% silk, and the size I estimate to be a size small for someone with a small bust. Please refer to the measurements below. Measurements: Bust 30" with stretch Waist 28" with stretch Hip 32" with stretch Length 56" to the front bottom hem Length 68" to the longest point of the back train In excellent condition. I noted a very slight mark on one of the flowers, and a small run to the silk, as well as some very slight dirt marks to the edge of the train. These are pictured in detail and annotated. Please note they are very very minor and not seen at all when worn.
