Stella McCartney F/W 2003 Runway Strapless Corset Dress

About the Item

Stella McCartney’s designs are noted for their simple elegance that at times bring in quirky elements to add a degree of fun. As a designer, McCartney plays with proportion and line in order to achieve some stunning effects even through simple garments. Her 2003 Fall collection featured an array of satin jackets and silk cocktail dresses, in line with her reputation for delivering refined, youthful looks. As seen as look #18 on that season’s runway, this strapless corset dress is a beautiful work of art. Done in teal silk and satin, the dress has some stretch to it and features an impeccably constructed boned corset bodice with a deep V neckline. The corset features sections of teal satin bordered by black silk that are cleverly placed to accentuate the natural lines of the body. Metallic mesh at the sides of the corset and grey mesh at the hips and front of the bodice add a nice textural contrast while giving the eye something new to appreciate from each angle. The cinched waist is further defined by the accompanying teal satin belt that secures with eye and hook closures at the back of the bodice. Size: XSML / SML Tagged Size: 38 IT / 2US Bust: 32-34 Waist: 24-26 Hips: 34 Length: top of bust to hem: 35 inches The straight silk skirt falls to a mini length just above the knee, creating an elegant silhouette. A wide band of teal satin at the hem draws the dress together visually, while a small slit at the back of the skirt allows for greater ease of movement. A glamorous addition to the discerning fashion lover’s wardrobe, this sensual dress is the perfect choice for a wedding, evening soiree, or special occasion and can easily be styled with statement heels and accessories. This Stella McCartney dress is lined with a black silk stretch underskirt and closes with a concealed back zip and snap closures. In excellent condition, it has been professionally eco-dry cleaned and pressed. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself. - Follow us on Instagram @BASHAGOLD

Balenciaga Ghesquière Pre-Fall 2007 Silk Maxi Dress
By Balenciaga, Nicolas Ghesquière
Located in Boca Raton, FL
Credited with revitalizing Balenciaga during his 15-year tenure as creative director, designer Nicolas Ghesquière introduced modern, minimalist designs to a house famous for its sculptural silhouettes. The new Balenciaga look delivered by Ghesquière, as described in a 2007 article for the New York Times was “... lean, seemingly energized with French street cool, relentlessly sharp in its concept.” From his 2007 Pre-Fall Collection, this dress is a special, hard-to-come-by collector’s piece. Resort and Pre-Fall pieces are always produced in smaller quantities, so this dress is a rare find to begin with. Done entirely in silk, this exquisite gown exudes a minimalist ’90s aesthetic that is luxurious and street chic at once. The black silk is interspersed throughout with sections of colorful silk featuring an abstract floral print in shades of blue, green, red, persimmon, yellow, and brown, which brings a vibrant allure to this masterfully constructed garment. Size: Small The sleeveless design begins with two gold-beaded spaghetti straps at each shoulder and a plunging V neckline, evoking the elegance of a Grecian gown. The central panel of the dress is gathered and draped to perfection, while layered flounces of alternating black and colorful silk towards the bottom of the skirt add extra volume and femininity. The skirt falls from a U shape beneath the bust to a maxi length at the ankles and is made from lots of fabric that moves beautifully with the wearer. The back of the dress is its own risque affair, with a revealing gathered central panel at the back of the bodice that flows seamlessly into the skirt, which accentuates the natural lines of the body. A sensual addition to the discerning fashion lover’s wardrobe, this beautiful Balenciaga gown is the perfect choice for a summer wedding or special occasion, and can easily be styled with strappy heels and statement accessories. This vintage Balenciaga dress...
