About the Item

Full of opulent original details, rendered in the most luxurious fashion, this rare 1920's piece is a beauty to behold. Made in the most sumptuous black silk, and embellished with clusters of glass beaded daisies in shades of pink, lilac, white, blue, red, orange, silver and peach, this spectacular dress is sure to steal your heart. The soft bateau cut neckline is framed by wide shoulder straps, which boast gathered smocking stitches , that allow for the silk to drape in soft pleats along each yoke. The sleeveless cut, sets off the wonderful wide black draped silk, accented by a cluster of beaded daisies along the front right hand side of the neckline and bust-line. The simple straight cut of the skirt-line is finished by beaded daisy clusters to each side. The back of the dress features a timeless straight cut, which drapes into a wonderful train, and features clusters of daisy beadwork. This dress showcases the timeless elegance of the era. Label: None Measurements of the Dress Armpit to Armpit: up to 50 inches Shoulder to Hem: 50 inches Shoulder to End of Train: 61.5 inches Waist: 58 inches Hips: 66 inches Size: UK 14-18 US 10-14 Closures: This dress has no fastenings. Condition: This dress is in perfect vintage condition with a very small mend to the silk along the back right hand side corner of the train, and a very small arm behind one of the daisy beaded flowers along the train. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon very close internal inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. Fabric: Silk, Glass Beads Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two.
