Vintage 1950's Duchess Satin Sweet Pink Pleated Dress UK 8-10 US 4-6
About the Item
A true beauty to behold. This original 1950's duchess satin dress, rendered in a soft shade of sweet pink and accented by the most divine pleat work, is a timeless beauty to behold and a must have in your vintage collection.
The V shaped cross over neckline of the dress, is accented by wide shoulder straps and a sleeveless cut. The elegant fitted bodice is set off by cross over pleats which radiate from each yoke, crossing over along the left hand side of the bodice, creating a textural and decadent design, whilst drawing the eye in to the cinched in waistline. The near full circle cut of the skirt, is accented by rounded and draped pleats that fall from either side of the front of the waistline area, creating draped pleats along either side of the skirt line, framing the elegant central panel, which drapes from beneath curved seams.
This dress has been photographed with a medium petticoat for added volume, this is not included within the listing.

Closures: This dress fastens along the centre back with a 16 inch metal zip and a hook and eye
Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. Some gentle surfaces scratches to the satin throughout. A few small pin holes along the back of the shoulder straps to each side. A faint age mark along the centre front panel of the skirt 9.5 inches above the hemline. A few scattered pin size age marks along the left hand side of the hipline where the pleats begin to drape into the skirt line. A few small age marks concealed within the pleats and drape of the skirt. Very faint colour variation to the satin along the armholes, this appears lighter in colour. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. .
