Vintage Ivory Gold Floral Embroidered Vintage Caftan Dress

About the Item

The kaftan is a garment traditionally found in the Middle East and near surrounding regions. Originally it was worn for its immense functionality for the climate and the day-to-day activities of the resident cultures. Here, this ivory wool kaftan, handmade in Lebanon features gold embroidery throughout in the motif of flowers that heavily decorate the front panels and sleeves. At the seam lines, a thick embroidery that mimics piping is done. Hand crochet detailing is done around the neck and flows down the centre where a series of over 80 buttons and loops are positioned as a closure. Culturally rich and exquisite craftsmanship, this Lebanese kaftan is surely an original wardrobe addition.
