Evening bolero in eggshell velvet - France Circa 1930

About the Item

Circa 1930 France Iridescent velvet panne evening bolero in eggshell cream dating from the 1930s, designed by Paule Haute Couture in Lyon. Fitted and crossed at the front in a wrap-around style, with a large V-neck in matching velvet. Mameluck-style long sleeves with two ties of beige crepe cords that hug the arm and end in a slight puff towards the wrist. The cream silk crepe lining has some brittleness and micro-tears on the inside of the sleeves. The velvet remains clean despite the occasional pinhead-sized rust stain. No other defects to report. More of a showpiece. Dimensions: Equivalent size 35-36 France. Height 38 cm, shoulders 36 cm, chest 85 cm, sleeves 61 cm.
