First half of the 19th century
Spain
Precious caraco or bodice in silk twill embroidered with bouquets, fully lined with unbleached hemp. Sleeveless caraco buttoned at the front and highlighted with applied ribbons in rainbow-blue moiré silk faille. Five cloisonné enamel buttons with gold thread cord trimmings. V-shaped back with two basques emphasising the waist. No major damage apart from a few small stains and the silk is fragile in places. Stable condition. A fine piece of Spanish heritage.
Dimensions: Equivalent to a size 36-37 France. Height 50 cm, shoulders 32 cm, chest 92 cm, waist 85 cm.
