About the Item

Preowned, vintage Norma Kamali jacket with massive shawl collar, likely made in the 80s. Made from black velvet with a swirling burn out pattern, it fastens at the waist with a velvet-covered button and flares at the hem. The sleeves have been designed long, so that they can be folded, as shown in our images. We've only had this style jacket a handful of times, but this is the first time we've found one in a larger size! The oversized shawl collar is so high fashion: it can be worn draped at the shoulders, gathered around the neck, or up over the head as we show in images 1 and 3. It's very much reminiscent of the style worn by character Rachel (actress Sean Young) in the film 'The Blade Runner'! Pair this with your favorite skirt or pants and truly elevate your style! Tagged NORMA KAMALI. Made in the USA. Lined in satin. Dry clean only. No content label. Tagged size 10. Note that this jacket has two velvet-covered buttons at the waist to adjust the size. Approximate measurements, taken flat and doubled at bust, hips and waist: shoulders - 17in, bust - 41in, waist button #1 = 26in, waist button #2 = 28in; hips - 38in, sleeves (unfolded) - 27in; shoulder to hem - 28.5in. Preowned/vintage (40+ years old) with some signs of age, use and prior wear: the original removable shoulder pads are missing; some light rubs to the velvet here and there, most hard to see when wearing but evident if inspecting very closely under certain light.
