1990s Bespoke Purple Floral Embroidered Dress Jacket Suit

About the Item

This is a bespoke dress and swing jacket pairing that was made for a wealthy client in the 1990s. Iridescent pale purple silk throws subtle hints of pink as it catches the light. Appliquéd orange marigolds, lilacs and vibrant green foliage are attached with such delicacy that it appears that the vines are climbing up the lapels of the coat and across the collar. These pretty florals also appear on the cuffs and vent pockets. The matching short-sleeve dress has playful, flouncy pleats at the skirt and is festooned with coordinating botanical detailing. It is fully lined and fastens with a zip at the back of the neck. The jacket is secured with hidden buttons down the front. This vivacious silk jacket and skirt pairing is in excellent vintage condition with no issues and was probably worn just once. Unlabelled but couture quality, this ensemble will fit up to a UK 10 or US 6 although the coat has a more generous cut and could fit a bigger size.
