About the Item

Guy Laroche two piece suit with a cropped jacket in a royal purple velvet lined in a tomato red satin accompanied by a coordinating skirt. The collarless jacket has a boxy silhouette with faceted jeweled buttons at the front and sleeves that can be cuffed up to show off the red lining. The skirt zips and buttons at the back with a slit at the front hemline. The ensemble is reminiscent of flamboyant jockey silks ... a real winner! Though it is not original to the suit, an Indian raw silk scarf is included and was worn as an accessory by the former owner. Both jacket and skirt are labelled by the designer and the scarf is labelled 'Raksha'. CONDITION Good vintage condition with a small tear at the top of the front hem slit as shown in photograph 12 and a subtle dark smudge at the back hemline of the skirt as shown in photograph 13. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Marked a French size 44 and best fits a U.S. sizes 8 - 10 with attention to the following measurements taken with jacket button closed. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4 and did not do the suit justice. The original owner wore sizes 8 - 10.
