1960s Paillette Sequin Wool Hat and Sleeveless Sweater Set

About the Item

This vintage wool sweater shimmers and steals through the dark of nightlife. Made with a 100% navy wool knit base, both sweater and hat feature coin size paillettes individually attached with black seed bead links. The sleeveless sweater has a scoop neckline that dips down to a v at center back. A handset metal zipper runs the entire length at center back, with the sweater falling to hip length. Fully lined in black satin, the sweater feels fabulous as the weight of the sequins create luxurious drape. The knit pillbox hat, which sits high on the head, is also covered in iridescent paillette sequins shining in a complement of gray, blue, green, and purple shades. The set brings back the go-go 60s, recalling the many moods of designers like Paco Rabanne and Pierre Cardin who eagerly explored clothing design through materiality and texture. Match these up with slim tuxedo pants, a svelte little skirt, or anything you choose.
