Allemand, 1858-1925
Lovis Corinth était un artiste et un écrivain allemand dont l'œuvre mature en tant que peintre et graveur réalisait une synthèse de l'impressionnisme et de l'expressionnisme. Connu pour ses peintures figuratives et ses paysages dramatiques, ainsi que pour ses paysages de la région de Walchensee en Bavière et ses portraits, Corinth a également peint des scènes religieuses, souvent violentes . Il réalise également des gravures et des lithographies dans lesquelles il révèle sa capacité de puissance expressionniste.
