French Pair of 18th Century Forged Iron Chenets

About the Item

A charming pair of French hand-forged, wrought iron fireplace andirons–or chenets–made in the 18th century. Somewhat Gothic in style, they have a reddish brown patina from oxidation of the iron and centuries of exposure to high heat. The hefty andirons have spit hooks protruding from the front and ring handles mounted to the top. Please view the detailed images to see more. Sold as a pair.
