Thai Ceramic Stupa, on Stand

About the Item

A selection of Stupa architectural details from Thailand, late 20th century, handcrafted in traditional Thai clay earthenware, with a glazed beige flat finish. Symbolizing enlightenment, The Stupa shape represents one of the most ancient and sacred Buddhist architectural traditions, commonly seen in temples and homes across Thailand and other regions of Asia. As architectural details, many small stupas and other antefixes were traditionally made out of earthenware, a tradition that experienced Thai artisans carry today. These three stupas are about 20.5 inches in average height. Finished in flat beige glaze, with crackled effect. Mounted on black metal stands, with a 4-inch square base. Sold separately. Price and dimensions are for the tallest piece. For additional pictures and prices of each piece, please inquire.
