About the Item
An antique English copper roll top bathtub by Ewart and Son Ltd, circa 1890. A beautiful piece for the vintage bathroom of an Edwardian or Victorian style property, this copper bath features a stylish roll top, decorative leg covers and an attractive timeworn look. While baths like these are often of French origin, this copper bath was made by English metalworkers, Ewart & Son Ltd.
Marked ‘Ewart and Son Ltd’ of Euston Road, London, this antique roll top bath is a rare find. It is the only bath we have ever seen by Ewart and Son, who are best known in English history for their water heaters and copper ventilators. For this reason, this copper bath is an unusual piece, becoming the focal point of any antique style bathroom.
