About the Item

An impressive antique English glazed stoneware bath with a painted zinc canopy dating from the late 19th/early 20th century. This beautiful antique canopy bath is accented by original brass hardware including taps and decorative finials to the top. Features include plunge, spray and wave functions, a water inlet slot to the lefthand side to fill the bath, five sets of holes for spray around the canopy and a narrow slit towards the top for shower water. With further restoration, this antique canopy bath will be an exceptional fixture for a heritage bathroom, certain to make a statement with it’s unusual design and solid white colour. It could be fitted with a traditional style shower rose head for modern functionality. Height from base of bath to top of white canopy (excl. finials): 175 cm CONDITION REPORT Good structural condition. Transports as 7 pieces. Looks as though it has been restored within the last 20 years; will require some further restoration/recommissioning before use. Bath has original glaze with minor surface wear and minor chips in places. Feet have some scuffs and small chips. Small dents and imperfections. All tap parts and waste appear to be present; likely need restoring/recommissioning. Central selector on the tap doesn't appear to work. Hot and cold taps turn fully but have not been tested.
