About the Item
An elegant and generously sized antique French sink basin on legs by Jacob Delafon, circa 1900.
This beautiful, glazed stoneware sink offers both practicality and style with its sweeping curves and wide basin, with plenty of surface space either side for bathroom essentials. In addition, it comes supplied with modern traditional style taps as pictured while maintaining many of its original antique fixtures including a working pop-up waste.
The perfect feature for a bathroom or large ensuite, bringing the elegance of early 20th century France to 21st century homes.
Jacob Delafon
Émile Jacob joined forces with Maurice Delafon in 1889 to create the company Jacob Delafon. Jacob was behind the brand’s early innovations and flagship products. Delafon distributed on a massive scale, helping to make sanitaryware accessible to the many instead of the few.
This antique sink is a part of this duos valuable heritage in the bathroom industry.

Jacob Delafon
Jacob Delafon was a French art-deco artist, designer and manufacturer. He founded a company in 1889, with Emile Jacob and Maurice Delafon, which anticipated the development of health and hydrotherapy. They started a plant in Pouilly-sur-Saône, in Côte-d'Or, France, to manufacture a line of sanitary glazed stoneware. The Jacob Delafon Group had another plant in Navilly, in Saône et Loire, founded in 1873, for the manufacture of roof tiles. The Jacob Delafon brand was bought by Societe Generale foundry, in 1938. With the acquisition of health activities of this group, in 1986, the brand, Jacob Delafon went to the American group, Kohler Company, where it became its French subsidiary, Kohler France.
