Nickel Plated Brass Wall Mounted Double Cup Holder and Soap Dish, circa 1902

About the Item

A wall mounted soap and double cup holder from the “San-O-La” company, New York, circa 1902. San-O-La was the brand name for a line of heavy nickel-plated, solid brass bathroom fixtures, manufactured by the Art Brass Company based at 299 East 134th Street, New York City, in the early 1900s. The company produced every accessory that your early 20th century bathroom could need – soap dishes, glass shelving, towel bars, cup holders, toilet paper holders, and robe hooks. Their products were installed in hotels and government buildings worldwide. No longer in business, antique San-O-La fixtures are much sought after. The nickel-plated bath fixture attaches to the wall, with an open work soap dish and two cup holders. The soap dish measures 5 inches L x 3.5 inches W. The cup holder is 10.5 in. L x 5.75 in. W x 6 in. H Projects approximately 5.75 inches from the wall. The expected patina to the surface, including some brass showing through the nickel finish. One cup holder shows three clean splits in the metal.
