About the Item

Striking double-sided French doors, crafted from solid oak in the 19th century and reclaimed from a historic property in France. Each panel showcases a different character-rich finish: one side features a rich warm stain that accentuates the vertical carved “folds” within the eight raised panels, while the reverse retains its original layered two-tone paint in varying shades of soft “French blue”. Whether you choose to highlight the refined carved detailing or the timeworn painted finish, these doors offer versatility and presence. Use them as sliding doors, or install them as functional entries to bring depth and heritage to any space. Salvaged in France, mid-19th century. One side of the doors features the original pale blue paint, while the opposite side showcases the richness of the wood grain, enhanced by the warm stain. The original nickel escutcheon is attached along with 6 half-barrel hinges. Minor wear to the paint, with overall wear consistent with age and use, no structural damage. Approximately 56.25" W x 91.5" H x 2" D.
