About the Item

Dating to the early 19th century, this pair of French provincial wardrobe doors offers timeless architectural beauty with their dry-scraped surface revealing soft layers of cream, sage green, and pale blue paint. Shaped panels and carved molding add subtle depth, while the weathered patina speaks to centuries of use and preservation. Whether repurposed into a custom cabinet or mounted as decorative panels, these doors bring character and soul to any space. Solid and full of history, they’re a testament to the understated refinement of rural France. Salvaged from a chateau in Normandy, France, circa 1800. Handcrafted from solid oak. The doors feature wonderful layers of the original sage green, pale blue, and cream paint on the exterior. The interior has been painted a pale peach hue (as found, a long time ago). The doors are not typical interior doors. Hardware has been removed (as found), except for 2 half-barrel and 3 steeple point hinges. Minor wood separation with overall wear consistent with age and use. When together, doors measure approximately 51.75" W x 81.5" H x .75" D.
