Reclaimed American Farmhouse Door
About the Item
Early American farmhouse door salvaged from a property in rural Ohio. Hand-planed pine boards with visible pegs and square nails speak to its honest construction, while traces of whitewash at the base hint at centuries of use.
One side features a simple three-panel design; the reverse is flat-planked and reinforced with original forged strap hinges. A wonderfully oxidized surface, worn through generations of use, shows deep knots, scratches, and tool marks throughout. Still intact is the early iron box lock and heart-shaped thumb latch, untouched and unrestored.
A functional architectural salvage piece or a historic accent for a new build.
Salvaged in Ohio, dating to the late 18th century.
The door is crafted from solid wood.
Both sides feature the original natural wood finish, showing areas of wear.
Original hand-forged iron lockbox, handle, and two strap hinges are present.
Minor wood separation and rot (at the bottom portion of the door) are present (not structural).
Overall condition is consistent with age and use.
