About the Item

An absolutely charming antique circa 1900 stamped brass fireplace screen of an interior dining scene, from either Belgium or France. So many details in the scene make this piece so fun to look at. It feels as though the image was copied from an engraving. The brass has been lightly polish but has great antique patina. It could be polished more, if the buyer so chooses. This firescreen will be beautiful in front of an antique fireplace, or to give a new fireplace some old character. Right foot is mounted slightly crooked and left foot swivels but the firescreen is stable and very functional. Marked DEPOSÉ in lower left; J.S.-C. in lower right. In as found condition. Condition commensurate with age and use. Right foot is slightly crooked but stable. Left foot swivels. Brass is heavily patinated and there are random imperfections in the brass, from age and use.
