About the Item
Beautiful 17th century French Louis XIV period fireback with a coat of arms. The coat of arms is decorated with a 'crown of the marquis' on top. The two large pillars refer to the club of Hercules and stand for strength and the unknown. The name of the initial owner has been cast on the fireback as well.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a black / pewter patina. It is in a good condition and does not have cracks.
