About the Item

A large ornate Regency manner wrought and cast-iron grate of serpentine form. The wide fire basket set on spheres and flanked by scrolls, all sits over an intricately engraved openwork fret with dragons. The grate is supported on foliated iron break-legs on circular plinth feet. Uppermost are highly decorative gadrooned urn finials with faceted tips. Restored.
