Antique English Brass & Cast Iron Fireplace Set with Registered Design, c.1905
A superb and unusually complete antique English fireplace set, comprising matching brass fire fender, three fire irons, and a decorative poker rest.
Dating to c.1905, the set is of Neoclassical inspiration, with elegant simplicity and fine proportions. The design is registered with the English Patent Office, bearing number 464428, confirming the original registration year as 1905.
Each component is well made:
– The heavy brass fender with cast iron supports and pierced Neoclassical detailing
– A trio of original fire tools (shovel, tongs and poker), all approx. 67 cm in length
– A matching cast brass poker rest with stylised foliate motif – rarely found surviving with sets today
Recently cleaned and lightly polished, the set is presented in excellent decorative order.
An unusually complete example, with a strong architectural presence and timeless style.
