About
20th century French Louis XIV style fireback with the inscription: ''L'adieu du roy d'Espagne avec le roy de France''. Louis XIV says farewell to his grandson Philippe V, who has been freshly elected king of Spain with the words: 'My son, there are no Pyrenees anymore.' The farewell happened on 4 December 1700.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a black / pewter patina. The fireback is in a good condition and does not have cracks.
