A Late 19th Century French Splayed Steel and Brass Fireplace Insert.

About the Item

A well proportioned late 19th Century French splayed steel & brass fireplace insert. A wide outer frame with applied polished steel plates creating a framed border, these in turn host repeating polished brass dragooned balls. Substantial polished steel splayed return ingos connect onto a steel framed fire opening displaying the same repeating polished brass balls. The three barred fire front with further steel ball finials, a removable ash pan door below. French 1900 Internal fire opening: 19 3/4” wide x 24 1/2” high. Size to the edge of raised border: 39” wide x 34 1/4” high.
