A beautifully detailed 19th-century French cast iron garden settee, showcasing the artistry of classical garden furnishings of the Victorian era. Featuring an intricate pierced back with scrolling foliage, grapevine motifs, and classical urn medallions, the bench embodies the romantic naturalism that swept European gardens during the mid-to-late 1800s. Cabriole-inspired legs lend a graceful silhouette, while the timeworn, weathered surface adds to its authentic patina. Originally crafted to enhance the beauty of grand parks and private estates, this piece remains both functional and decorative, offering a rare opportunity to incorporate a historical element into modern garden or conservatory settings. Found in France, circa 1850 - 1880. Sturdy and functional. Areas of rust are present. Remnants of the original paint are visible in areas. The overall wear of the settee is consistent with age, use, and exposure to the elements over time. Approximately 36.875” W x 19.25” D x 30.875” H; floor to seat 15.25” H.
