About the Item
A beautiful small scale Bar Harbor style wicker arm chair in a natural finish with blue accent trim. This is a very comfortable and sturdy all woven arm chair made most likely in Gardner Massachusetts in the very early 20th C. Bar Harbor style wicker furniture was the rage as it was a more cost effective design with a quite beautiful wide open almost lattice work pattern.This style also became very popular because of its clean and healthy open air look. The name most likely was given to this furniture, as many other wicker designs were given, as homage to the resort areas where so much of it was used and enjoyed in the grand ocean front resorts and homes of that area.
This chair came out of a beautiful 19th C. ocean front home in Kennebunkport, Maine and was part of its original furnishings according to its owners. The chair is is in natural finish with a beautiful woven blue border trim, as well as, four hand woven blue pineapples decorating each leg. It is freshly upholstered in a harmonizing all weather blue floral designed fabric. This is the perfect size chair that will fit into any size room in your home, as well as Sun Rooms and exterior covered porches.
