About the Item

A set of English country garden plant markers depicting various interesting names and titles. You can just imagine these 46 plant markers in a quaint English country style garden showcasing an array of ornamental plants. Some even display names for some highly esteemed people. Examples are 'Floribunda Queen Elizabeth' and 'President Herbert Hoover'. Floribunda, meaning 'many flowers', is a type of rose characterised by their clusters of brightly blooming flowers produced on each stem. This rose was named after the late Queen Elizabeth II. Known as the Queen Elizabeth rose, it is a pink hybrid tea rose with a strong fragrance and was first introduced in 1954 to mark Queen Elizabeth's coronation. President Herbert Hoover was America’s 31st president from 1929 to 1933, who achieved international success as a mining engineer. He was also known as being a worldwide gratitude as “The Great Humanitarian” as he fed war-torn Europe during and after World War I. This influential figure also has a rose named after him, called Rosa 'President Herbert Hoover' (HT). It can grow up to 90 cm tall and produces large, fragrant, fully double blooms in a blend of orange, gold, and pink. Other interesting names include Floribunda Shepherd's Delight, President Herbert Hoover, Floribunda Kobona, H T Golden Dawn, Ceanothus Glorire de Versailles, Narcissus Dawson City, Narcissus Giant Werley, H T Margaret Mc Gredy, and Floribunda Firecracker. Dating to the early mid 20th century, these markers are certainly a wonderful feature for those looking to add style and charm to their garden.
