About the Item

Italian Majolica jardiniere and accompanying stand in the style of Giorgio Andreoli (1470-1555). Decorated in the Renaissance style with arabesques, graffito, and floras in various polychrome colors on a white ground. The shaped jardiniere rests on a tripartite footed base which surmounts a matching pedestal with pierced panels supported on scrolled legs. One foot of the jardiniere marked with partial initials, the top of the stand with conjoined initials E or G. M. 19th century. The overall height stands at an impressive 40.75". The pedestal base is 24"W x 24"D x 21"H. The jardiniere is 17"W x 17"D x 19"H. The diameter of the opening is approximately 9".
