19th Century Polished Brass Jardiniere or Planter

About the Item

A very rare 19th Century finely cast polished brass jardiniere or planter of oval serpentine form in excellent condition with detachable liner. This stunning piece is ornately embossed throughout with gorgeous beading, fluting, guilloche and a fabulous masque to the central body flanked with richly trailing foliate, beautiful flowerheads, c and s scrolls motif detail. The pair of carrying handles to the sides of scroll form surmounted with a stylised mythical seahorse above richly scrolling foliate, supported on scroll foot with cabochon, beading and foliate detail.
