A French Biot jar from the 19th Century. This antique vessel from France features a yellow glazed and rolled neck & rim, with a bulbous shaped body. The body is left in natural tone. The rim diameter is 19 inches. The approximate weight is 70 pounds Biot is a small village in the south of France, they are famous for their clay pottery and in particular, their jars. It has a beautiful weathered & aged patina which adds to its charm. "biot" is a name and style of pottery which has been used since the 16th century.
