18th Century Swedish Antique Wood Trough /Serving bowl dated 1789 sign PPS OIS

About the Item

A genuine antique wood trough dated 1789 and signed with ownermarks PPS OIS ,from Hälsingland Northern Sweden A nearly monumentaly large farmers handcrafted form or trough/ serving bowl or centerpiece. In solid pine wood. A highly functional object with a sculptural apperance. This historical trough has marks of wear which make it unique. These troughs were orginally designed to store milk. Today they are used as decorative bowls on tables to put fruit in or nice flowers. There is a small twig hole on the tray.
