About the Item

A good antique Islamic Mamluk Revival glass basin, made for the Arab/Persian market, circa 1880. The bowl either made in France or Austria in the style of either Philippe-Joseph Brocard or by J. L. Lobmeyr & Co. The pale blue basin is finely & beautifully hand-decorated with enameled polychrome decoration, having Kufic inscriptions in cartouches featured along the top and bottom, and decorated with stylized flowers and octagonal medallions along the body containing calligraphy. Condition is very good.
