About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown pink and gold flecks Italian art glass ribbed shell shaped footed bowl / candy dish. Attributed to designer Ercole Barovier for Barovier e Toso, circa 1950s. Created in the manner of the "Eugenio" technique. The seashell or horn of plenty shape has a curled tail and the bowl part is very open and deep. The piece is profusely covered in fine gold leaf on the outside surface, along with the pink and gold applied foot. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or curio cabinet. Fill it with candy or use it to hold rings or earrings. Mid-century era. Measures 3 7/8" tall x 3 3/4" across the top.
