Beautiful centerpiece consisting of large clear glass bowl filled with papier mâché fruit and vegetables plus a ceramic cantaloupe. It is all in wonderful vintage condition with no outstanding flaws we have detected. Please see photos, circa mid-late 20th century.
This is the perfect centerpiece for your late summer table! This gorgeous large vintage transparent glass bowl is the perfect container to show off these bright and beautiful pieces of papier mâché fruits and vegetables. There are two bananas, two plums, a bunch of grapes, an orange, a tomato, a cucumber, two large jalapeno peppers, a red pepper, half a squash, and half a cantaloupe. Plus, there is a whole yummy ceramic cantaloupe too. Their bright colors and the generous size of the overall centerpiece is sure to make a statement whether you use it on your dining table, in the kitchen, or on a shelf. You must make it yours!

No human being, however great, or powerful, was ever so free as a fish – John Ruskin, Picture Quotes. Just look at this magnificent cast bronze bowl sculpture with fish design created by John Forsythe. A decorative bowl comprised of a cast bronze water whirlpool with swimming fish caught in the spinning currents, their half bodies and patinated green tails distending from the swirling water and a fish tail protruding from the exterior base of the bowl. You feel the struggle of trying to stay above water and complete your journey. Surrounded by a cast bronze rim trimmed with shiny green bubbles or fish eggs as to represent salmon and their spawning. Salmon lay an enormous number of eggs because they face a lot of adversity on their journey to becoming an adult, and while we aren’t sure these fish are in fact salmon, it certainly speaks to the realities of the course of life. Overcoming hardships and struggles and new beginnings. This sculpture is unique and one of only fifty created by John Forsythe, so it is sure to be a sought-after piece for collectors. In the style of organic modern or fantasy, this piece would be gorgeous displayed on your dining table, display cabinet or buffet in the family room, or on the coffee table in the living room.
