A stunning white opaline 'Bulle de Savon' pedestal bowl, with gilt bronze rim and edging. This magnificent Charles X period glass bowl is manufactured from delicate opaline, a decorative style of glass made in France in the 19th century, and which began to gain popularity during the reign of Napoleon. Opaline glass is at its most magnificent when displayed in sunlight, which brings out fiery hues of orange and red, which dance across its surface.
